Soerendonks Goor
The Soerendonks Goor is located west of Soerendonk in the municipality of Cranendonck. This source
area of the Strijper Aa river was cultivated in 1957 despite vehement protests. The venture proved to
be a failure, and twenty years later, the operation was reversed. Since then, these wetlands have
been given the necessary space to breathe again.
In winter, many ducks and herons frequent the area, including the great egret. There is a bird-
watching hut at the edge of the pond where you can get a good view of the birds without disturbing
them.
